Georgia’s Workforce Knowledge and Competencies (WKCs) guide the development and delivery of quality professional learning opportunities for Georgia’s early learning and school age workforce. The WKCs answer the question, “What should early learning and school age professionals working with young children know and do?” The WKCs provide a framework for trainers, coaches, and other professional learning specialists to create learning experiences that directly address the individual needs of each early learning and school age professional. The WKCs in this document replace the Georgia Professional Development Competencies for Early Care and Education Professionals and the Georgia Professional Development Competencies for School-Age Care Professionals.
